“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20
It’s challenging to adequately express how grateful we are for what was experienced these past few days.
At four different venues, Chloe Cole and Logan Lancing helped us each to realize what C.S. Lewis described as unnecessary, like philosophy, like art. It has, he noted, no survival value. Fellowship, rather, is one of those things which gives value to survival.
The Board and Staff with Alaska Family Council are truly grateful for the gatherings with friends old and new. We are hopeful the wisdom that was passed along will inspire attendees to be salt and light as only they can be in their circle of influence.
We are encouraged that Truth was lifted high and that miraculously, as Paul noted to the people in Ephesus, each of us are “his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
The Greek word that was used for workmanship was actually “poemia” which means we are God’s creative “masterpiece” or “work of art”. The word is the origin of the English word “poem,” and is used to convey the idea of a deliberate creation, handcrafted with purpose.
May we each go forward humbly with that reality in mind.
