Jim Minnery has served as the executive director of Alaska Family Council since its inception in 2006.

Jim Minnery has served as the executive director of Alaska Family Council since its inception in 2006. A lifelong Alaskan, Minnery has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years, serving groups including the March of Dimes, American Red Cross of Alaska, Alaska Legal Services Corporation and Crisis Pregnancy Center of Alaska.

Jim received a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in Denver. He has previously served on the board of the Alaska Association for Nonprofits and obtained recognition as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

Jim, his wife Kim, and their four children attend New Grace Christian Church in Anchorage.

Tim assists Jim with crafting a vision for growing the organization and getting the boss some breathing room.

Tim assists Jim with crafting a vision for growing the organization and getting the boss some breathing room.

Tim brings a variety of experience to AFC, from Marine infantryman to Naval intelligence analyst, school teacher to baseball coach, federal investigator to think tank vice president. He’s been actively involved in church and volunteer opportunities, and writing about baseball, politics, and society in general.

He and his wife have five adult children, all born and homeschooled in Alaska.

KyLeah Mindala supports the mission of Alaska Family Council by managing donor relations, maintaining records and bookkeeping, running social media, and coordinating events that engage and connect our community.

With years of experience in customer service and sales, KyLeah brings a heart for connection and hospitality to her work. She is married with three children and homeschools, finding joy in hosting, homemaking, and bringing people together. She is active in the local dance and climbing communities through her children’s activities and attends church at Response, where she enjoys serving and building relationships.
