Happy Monday! Here is our weekly list of five things we did last week. We actually did more than this but five is a fun number that has gained momentum in some circles lately.
1) Finalized locations for our 2025 Spring Dinners with John Daniel Davidson as our Keynote Speaker. The Dinners are taking place on Thursday, May 29th in Anchorage at Main Event Grill and Saturday, May 31st in Wasilla at At the Barn MatSu. Tickets and sponsorships available in the next day or so.
2) Attended the CPC Pregnancy Center luncheon at ChangePoint Church in Anchorage. Wonderful keynote speaker, 600 pro life people and an encouraging moment to celebrate the life-saving, eternal work of this phenomenal ministry.
3) Distributed materials for LifeWise Academy, the Bible lesson during school hours for public school kids initiative, at the Alaska Private and Home Educators Association (APHEA) Convention at Muldoon Community Assembly church in Anchorage.
4) Researched and then signed on to a letter of support from the Digital Childhood Alliance to U.S. Congress members addressing 1) Parental Approval for App Downloads and Purchases, 2) Accurate and Transparent Age Ratings and 3) Secure Age Verification – all of which will help parents better manage their children on the Internet. This federal legislation is similar to Rep. Sarah Vance’s bill that has been filed this session.
5) Reached out to an Anchorage Daily News reporter who had written a front page piece on identifying murder victims by name in Alaska. The story, although unrelated to our mission, got our attention as the reporter noted one victim was an “unborn baby” who was to be named Celeste. Interested in the cognitive dissonance that must go on with those who acknowledge a life, report on their murder and yet would think nothing of that same child being terminated by an abortionist. Stay tuned for how the chat goes.
